Scripps Ranch is an affluent neighborhood in the North East region of San Diego located East of the 1-15 Freeway. Although it's fairly far away from the coast, the weather is rarely too hot because there is an abundance of eucalyptus trees that provide cooling shade. Unfortunately, eucalyptus also burns easily creating a fire hazard that burned down trees and homes in 2003. A few large employers like Hitachi, Lockheed Martin, LG Electronics and of course WD-40 that proves well paid employment in the area. Miramar Lake and Reservoir allows miles of hiking, boating, and fishing for the people who love nature and of course, Black Mountain preserve is not far away.
